the news traveled
and brought sadness to the eye
of each person who had found out
who realized it was true, cuz this couldnt of been a lie.

then it came to me
my brother got close to whisper into my ear
to tell me how it would be
emotions went wild, and down came a tear

it was like our whole past flashed before me
you were there when i was born
your youngest son was my best friend since i was a year old
all my life, you've been family to me.

i can remember my mothers storys
how you and her first met
how you were my moms one and only true bestfriend
and how you were like my second mother.

i remember you always being there
sometimes even more then my own father
id get off the school bus in kindergarten
and there you were with my moms

the brightest spirit
your contagious smile
the laughs that made me happy
and the hugs that could warm my heart in a split second

ALL my childhood memories
consist of mostly you
tee-ball games, bus stops, afternoon walks, ice cream trips
video game nights, trips to the zoo or the park.

i stumble on ways to explain my love for you
and what i would do to stop this if i could.
but it seems like God needs you now.
in the most special way.

i just want you to know
that you are so special to me
and you always will.
like my Second mother, you will always be.

like true family, like a mother.
